Until our webmaster can update the Flight Schedule
heading, all events in this schedule will occur in 2008.

For people interested in becoming members of the
Minnesota Kite Society, there is now a membership form
that can be downloaded, filled out and mailed to our address
which is shown on the form.

schedule for further updates on events happening in
Minnesota and the region.

From I-494 in Bloomington, exit at Portland Avenue S. Go
south about 1-1/2 miles to 90th Street. Turn right at 90th St.
Go west to 3rd Avenue S. and turn right. Park on the street
or in Valley View Elementary School's parking lot.

June 7 & 8

14th Annual Jamestown Kite Festival
Weekend of June 7 & 8
Meidinger Park Field, 17th St. & 17th Ave., Jamestown, ND

This is the biggest kite festival in North Dakota. It occurs
over two days. So if you're in the area, you can't miss it!
Kite fliers have come from the Midwest, West and Canada
for this event.

Jamestown, ND is located on I-94 about 100 miles west of
Fargo, ND and is about 340 miles northwest of Minneapolis, MN.

June 21

Summer Solstice Fly
Saturday, June 21, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Sunrise Park Middle School, White Bear Lake, MN

This is the longest day of the year, or the day with the most
sunlight. We'll take advantage of it to fly kites in the evening
till the sun goes down or the mosquitos chase us away.

From I-694 in White Bear Lake, exit at White Bear Avenue.
Go north on White Bear Ave. about 1-1/2 miles to the stoplight
at Cedar Avenue. Turn right at Cedar Ave. and go east about
2/3 mile to Cranbrook Drive. The school is located on the NE
corner of Cedar Ave. and Cranbrook Dr. Kite flying will occur
on the playfields on the north side of the school.
