Harvest Festival & Corn Maze, 8001 109th Ave. N, Brooklyn Park, MN (map)

Twin Cities Harvest Festival & Corn Maze is located on southeast corner of Hwy 169 & 109th Ave. N. in Brooklyn Park. For directions see http://www.twincitiesmaze.com/location.html One Sky One World (OSOW), also known as "World Kite Day", is the international day of kite flying where people all over the world fly kites annually on the second Sunday of October to promote world peace, friendship among all people, and awareness of environmental concerns. Minnesota Kite Society (MKS) is one of many organizations around the globe that will be observing One Sky One World by flying kites on that day. We will be flying in the open field east of the Harvest Festival and Corn Maze. Kite flying is FREE. But to enter the Corn Maze will require purchasing a ticket. A portion of every ticket sold is donated to the Minnesota Wild Foundation. Here is a link to the website for the Twin Cities Harvest Festival and Maze: http://www.twincitiesmaze.com/ MKS members, please see Dean for a card that will get you a discount for a maze ticket. For more information about the Minnesota Wild Foundation follow this link: http://wild.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=59017 The land owner will have space cleared for kite fliers to park on the NE corner of the maze, east of the parking area. In past years this was a wheat field, this year was planted with pumpkins. We will be in the field that has been harvested. There will be some pumpkins still in the field, walk around them. There are not burrs in the field this year, but we do recommend that you wear shoes, socks and long pants. See Dean on the field if you have questions about where to fly. Since the first One Sky One World event was held, millions of people all over the world have flown kites on the second Sunday of October. Please join the Minnesota Kite Society on October 12th in honoring its objectives of One Sky One World by flying a kite!
