![]() The kite planned for this workshop is the Zephyr Delta. The plans for this kite were published in The Magnificent Book of Kites by Maxwell Eden. You will learn how to read written kite plans, and how to adjust plans to allow for modifications. The Zephyr Delta is a light to medium wind kite: easy to fly. This is a “lawn chair” kite that will stay in the sky all day. Size and colors: 5 foot wing span, 1 or 2 colors Student level: Beginner to Advanced Please contact Pam Hodges to sign-up for the workshop. Her email address is Pam@mnkites.org or at flywithus@mnkites.org You can also call her at 651 735-5373. When: Saturday, June 21 10am - 4pm What to bring: Sewing machine, sewing notions (thread, bobbins, scissor, etc), 2 yds of 40" ripstop for the kite*. Lunch money (TBD by the class where to have lunch, usually at Sweet Taste of Italy across the street). * Note: 2 yds of material is for a single color using the dimensions in the plan from the book. There has been interest in creating some kites at 1 1/2 the size of the plan. If you want to make a larger kite then you will need more fabric. Also, please adjust what fabric you bring if you want to use more colors. |
