Where: 10 North Lakeview Drive, At the Downtown Seawall in Clear Lake, Iowa
New This Year: Parking is limited in the area close to the flying field, so this year, the Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce will be providing a shuttle service on the Chamber Trolley. Park at the Clear Lake High School and take the free trolley to the vicinity of Color the Wind! We hope you find this helpful!
The trolley will run from 10 AM to 4:30 PM
Lodging is filling up quickly but don't forget to check "airbnb" for some great possibilities for lodging in area homes, cottages and condos in Clear Lake and the surrounding area!
To fully enjoy Color the Wind:
Come prepared for cold weather. Wear layers of clothing including "longies", warm hats and gloves. Sunglasses are a "must"!
Choose your footwear wisely not only to keep your toes warm, but also to provide good footing on icy surfaces!
New Food Vendor This Year: Smokey Heights will make hot lunches available from their food truck on the street between the flying field and the Lakeview Room.
Sweet Treats for You: Goodies, home baked by a local Relay for Life team, will be available in the Lakeview Room!
Kites for Sale: Route 66 Kite Shop will have a good assortment of kites available for you in the Lakeview Room. Buy your favorite and join us on the flying field for even more fun!
Public Reception to Welcome the Kite Pilots: Friday evening, February 15th at 5:30 pm at the Clear Lake Arts Center. Free Appetizers will be served. Please plan to attend!
Team 180GO: Don't miss seeing this stunt kite team performing their intricate kite dances.....all choreographed to music. These are four line kites and you will marvel that they don't get their lines all tangled up! Never fear! They are professionals and they are FUN!
Fire & Ice Alchemy: This stunt kite team flies two line kites in tandem to perform beautiful kite ballets choreographed to music. They, along with Team 180GO, will be entertaining you off and on all day!
Kids' Kitemaking Workshop: Free and sponsored by NIACC and the Clear Lake Arts Center. At the Arts Center beginning at 10 am and continuing until our supply of kite kits is gone. We will have about 150 available. Kids can join the fun on the flying field!
