Join us in Clear Lake, IA on Saturday for the 13th Annual Color The Wind Kite Festival!

You'll have a "whale of a good time" when you join us at the 13th annual Color the Wind Kite Festival in Clear Lake, Iowa on February 15th, 2014 from 11 am to 4 pm. You'll find us at the downtown seawall at the West end of Main Street on the frozen waters of the lake. This free event is the largest winter kite festival in the Midwest. Serious kitefliers from 8 states will be here to show off their huge, colorful kites for you. You'll see teddy bears, flying fish, alligators, horses in the air, some ranging in size of over 100 feet long! The teddy bear is as tall as a four story building! New to Color the Wind this year is Tony Killip's Blue Whale kite. You won't want to miss that! Don't miss the stunt kite teams as they demonstrate their skill with their four-line kites in routines choreographed to music provided by Hot food, beverages and sweet treats will be available for purchase on site. Warm up in the Lakeview Room across the street from the flying field. Buy a kite for yourself at the "kite store" in the Lakeview Room to join the flying fun out on the frozen lake!
